Dynamex's Plan for the 2010 Olympic Games in Vancouver

With the 2010 Olympics in Vancouver quickly approaching, Dynamex is excited to announce that we have been working closely with the Vancouver Olympic Organizing Committee, the RCMP integrated Security Unit, Vancouver City Hall and the Vancouver Police to determine the most impacted areas of our business, and to plan around these areas. The good news is that for most Dynamex customers, the Olympics will have little impact on overall service. The organizing committee has done an excellent job of communicating closures and anticipated changes in traffic patterns, and Dynamex has been planning around these issues since August 2009.

We anticipate daily delays on bridges, especially to and from the North Shore, as well as delays at all entries and exits to/from the core of Vancouver. Because of this, we are adding inner-city shuttles and creating meet-points to minimize the traffic impact on our service. We are also adding staff in certain locations, and we are reconfiguring our downtown fleet accordingly. Any delays affecting service will be posted real-time on www.dxNow.com, which is our current procedure for communicating delays caused by an event. We will need additional time to complete deliveries to and from Whistler. We will be working the Whistler area even if the roads are closed.

Dynamex will be providing pickup and delivery services in areas of the downtown that require many of our drivers to have security clearance and access. We are increasing staff to ensure that we meet our service commitments. But of course, we do that 24-hours a day, 7-days a week, 365-days a year anyway! If you have any questions, you can reach our Olympic Planning Committee by e-mail at 2010Coordinator@dynamex.com.
